About

I started shooting photos in my home town in New York in 1991 with a style that focused on social documention.  I quickly discovered that I had an ability to capture the decisive moment that gives a photo its story while employing successful composition.  I continued with that same focus for many years after moving to San Francisco, and was fortunate enough to document different cultures in over a dozen countries while traveling as an art assistant.  Over time, my style slowly expanded and my technique improved.  A contributing factor, despite my years of resistance, was the move from film to digital photography. Eventually, I discovered that embracing new technologies only enhanced my ability to shoot better photos.

At this point in my life I have 23 years of experience shooting everything from documentary, landscapes, sports to models. One of the most valuable aspects of photography for me is that I'm always learning, and that is the main reason I keep shooting.
